Casey Murphy

Casey Murphy is currently a professional goalkeeper for North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League. Murphy also represents her country playing for the United States Women’s National Team. Murphy was a part of the United States youth programs as well at the U14, U15, U18, U20, and U23 levels. She represented the United States at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and received her first ever first team international start against Australia in November 2021.

Murphy started her professional career in January 2018 where she signed a professional contract with Montpellier HSC to play in France’s Division 1 Féminine.  In her first season with Montpellier, she earned Goalkeeper of the Year in Division 1 Féminine and was selected by French media as part of the league’s Best XI. She also participated in both the Coupe de France Féminine and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Prior to going pro, Murphy played college soccer at Rutgers University from 2014 to 2017. Murphy earned several accolades, including the Female Big Ten Medal of Honor, twice the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, twice an All-Big Ten First Team selection, and twice an All-Region First Team honoree. Murphy was also named a 2017 Mac Hermann Trophy Semifinalist.

Murphy’s parents Michael and Jill Murphy got her into soccer at a young age with Bridgewater Soccer Academy. Her brother Kyle and her would play in their backyard in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey. Murphy attended Bridgewater-Raritan High School and played club soccer with the PDA Slammers, who won 3 youth club national championships.

Casey’s soccer clinic will include specific skills training for all positions. The skills we will work on will include dribbling, trapping, passing, instep kicks, and shooting. After the skills stations the players will compete in small-sided scrimmages in which different attacking and defending skills and proper positioning will be taught. Join Casey and her team for a 3-hour clinic to stay sharp this off-season.

Casey’s introduction to Goalkeeping clinic presents young soccer players the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basic fundamentals of Goalkeeping. The Goalkeeper techniques that will be taught include footwork, handling, set position, diving and distribution. Goalkeeping is an important position in soccer and to be a successful goalkeeper it is vital that you learn the proper techniques. Join Casey and her team for an educational and enjoyable session, it was actually around this age she got started too!

Casey’s Goalkeeper clinic concentrates on teaching proper technique for handling, diving, and distribution. In addition, the camp will cover game-like scenarios such as reaction saves, dealing with highballs, and correct positioning/angles within the frame of the goal. Casey will also share how goalkeeping has taught her many personal values like confidence, decisiveness and adaptability, all of which she started to learn early in her career.

All players receive a signed photo, t-shirt and can bring one item to be signed.
